For lyophilized (dry powder) Dihexa, store the vial in a freezer at –20 °C, protected from light and moisture. In this form, the peptide remains stable for up to 36 months when kept dry and sealed properly. For short-term handling, keeping it at 4 °C or even at room temperature for a few days is acceptable, but freezing is recommended for long-term preservation.
Once reconstituted (mixed with sterile water or buffer), Dihexa should ideally be used immediately to maintain its full potency. If immediate use is not possible, the reconstituted solution can be stored in a refrigerator at 2–8 °C for up to 7 days. For longer storage, divide the solution into single-use aliquots and freeze at –20 °C or below.
To minimize degradation, it’s important to avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles. Aliquoting the solution into smaller portions before freezing helps with this. Adding a small amount of carrier protein (like 0.1% BSA or HSA) to the solution before freezing can further stabilize the peptide during storage.
Always store Dihexa in airtight, light-protected containers and allow the vial to reach room temperature before opening, to prevent moisture condensation. Following these practices ensures the peptide retains its integrity and effectiveness for research use.
